Emails Highlight Jeffrey Epstein and Steve Bannon Ties

In November 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly Donald Trump's chief strategist, visited the UK to deliver a address at the Oxford Union.

The speech was interrupted by numerous demonstrators, and Bannon, scheduled to board a flight that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Protesters slowed down speech don't think I can catch the flight we are heading to the airport".

Epstein responded: "There. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 9:50 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "You are an excellent helper".

These exchanges were published on this week alongside over 20,000 documents from the records of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The disclosure by the House oversight committee contains an iMessage chat where Bannon's identity is withheld. The BBC managed to establish his involvement by matching the dates, events, and places referenced.

For instance, Epstein discusses arranging a jet from Scotland for the unnamed individual in the messages, and commends their "Oxford speech". Bannon took part in the Edinburgh conference on November 14, and delivered the talk at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any misconduct, declined to comment on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon was one of the president's key advisers in the run up to the 2016 election and during the initial phase of his first administration, but resigned from the White House in August 2017.

He has admitted he was making a documentary about Epstein prior to his death and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of recordings. In a live taping of his podcast earlier this year, he stated: "We're going to release the series, the five-part series, in the coming year - at the start of next year."

But the recently disclosed documents indicate Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier at times seeming to act like a personal assistant.

A short time before the exchange in which Epstein appeared to have arranged a private plane for Bannon, Epstein said: "what's it like to have the most highly paid booking agent in the world ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r quite capable assistant", to which Epstein responded "Massages. Excluded".

Discussing a visit to "Abu Dhabi" in another message, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you're taken care of."

UK Politics Mentioned in Messages

The published communications also show Bannon and Epstein discussing UK politics in 2018.

On the day of his address at the Oxford, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the EU exit issue this day with Farage, Johnson and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a reference to the UK prime minister, the embattled UK prime minister at the time, he continued: "The guys are attempting to move on. may soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think staying as much as you can in the UK. Ideal- so people get the commitment of your follow-up."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Will Theresa may remain in power". Bannon answered: "It seems unlikely however the people here have little courage" and noted "Boris ; Michael Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; David Davis - somebody has to take charge".

Theresa May was eventually toppled in 2019 after surviving two votes of lack of support in December 2018.

A spokesman for the political party informed media: "Nigel Farage has never been in a gathering with Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest that encounter took place.

The Congress will decide soon on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its files related to its investigation into Epstein, who passed away in prison in that year.

Interest in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was renewed this week after the release of more than 20,000 documents from his archives.

Some of those mentioned the former president, who has repeatedly rejected any impropriety. The president was a acquaintance of Epstein's for years, but says they parted ways in the early 2000s, a couple of years prior to Epstein was first arrested.
